Lasary (recipe follows) is a specialty of the highlands of Madagascar, where it is enjoyed as a side dish or maybe as a topping on a baguette sandwich. Tomatoes and green onions join forces in this fresh, simple, tasty salad.
(Tomato and Scallion Salad)
Yield: 8 small salads
— In a 1-quart bowl:
— Combine: 1 cup SCALLIONS, finely diced
— 2 cups TOMATOES, finely diced
— 2 Tbsp WATER
— 1 tsp SALT
— few drops TABASCO SAUCE.
All ingredients were put into a bowl and stirred to combine:
Stir lightly and chill.

Lasary recipe in video
— 2 tomatoes,
— 1 green (spring) onion,
— 1/8 tsp salt or more to taste,
— 1/4 tsp lime juice,
— 1/4 tsp grated fresh ginger,
— 1 tsp water.
Finely dice the tomatoes and onion and mix all ingredients in a bowl. Allow to macerate at least two hours before serving cold as a condiment with main dishes.
