1 16 oz. container mascarpone cheese OR
1 8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
coffee flavored liqueur
3 1-ounce squares semisweet chocolate, coarsely grated
1 1/2 cups heavy or whipping cream
2 tsp. instant espresso-coffee powder
2 3 or 4 ounce packages ladyfingers
Beat cheese in large bowl. Add salt, 1/2 cup sugar, 3 tbsp. coffee-flavor liqueur, 1 tsp. vanilla extract and 2/3 of the grated chocolate. Use remaining chocolate for top.
In small bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form. Whisk whipped cream into creamed cheese mixture.
In another small bowl, mix instant espresso powder,1/3 cup coffee flavored liqueur and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract with 2 tbsp. water.
Separate the ladyfingers and line a glass or crystal bowl with 1/4 of the. Brush with espresso mixture. Spoon 1/3 cream cheese mixture over. Repeat two more times. Top with plain whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate. Cover and chill for two hours.
