Matar Paneer

Serves: 4

Required Ingredients:

Green Peas (Matar) — 2 cups

Paneer Pieces — 2 cups (1 inch long, 0.5 inch width and thickness)

Water — 1.5 cups

Half’n Half Cream — 1/4 cup

Tomato — 2 medium, finely chopped

Sugar — 1 tsp.

Garlic Paste –1 tsp.

Ginger Paste — 1 tsp.

Turmeric — 1/4 tsp.

Red Chili Powder — 1/2 tsp.

Onion — 1 large, grated

Oil — 1/4 cup

Coriander Leaves — a fist full

Salt to taste

Set 1

Clove — 4

Cumin Seeds — 1 tsp.

Black Pepper Corns — 6

Cardamom — 1

Cooking Instructions:

Heat ingredients of set 1 in a skillet for five minutes on medium heat, remove from heat, let cool and make into a fine powder.

Heat oil in a skillet and when oil is hot add ginger, garlic, turmeric, salt, chili powder, crushed onion, above powder and sugar. Fry on medium heat until onion turns pale brown.

To the skillet add matar and chopped tomato and fry for three minutes on high heat. Reduce heat to medium, add water, stir and cover.

Cook until the water content has reduced by half and now add paneer pieces, cream and stir well. Cook further for five minutes.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

Goes well with rice, paratha, puri.
